Price, volatility, derivatives positioning and options open interest.
BTC price, implied volatility and the daily trading range.
Top: each day's low-to-high range (blue: closed up, red: closed down; tick = close). Bottom, same days: long liquidations above zero, short liquidations below zero. Tick “Daily range %” to add each day's range as % of its low (right axis). Red days usually liquidate longs, blue days shorts.
Option open interest (Deribit, Binance, Bybit, OKX) is a daily snapshot. CFTC futures positions are weekly (Tuesday data, released Friday). Liquidations, volume and open interest of BTC perpetual futures on Binance, Bybit and OKX come from Coinalyze, collected by BMM.
Standard CME Bitcoin contract only (5 BTC each), in BTC. Bitcoin Cash and other contracts excluded. Net = long minus short; below zero is net short.
Actual liquidations (not an estimate of future levels) in $500 price bands. Long liquidations happen when the price falls through a band, short liquidations when it rises. Dashed line: latest price.
Price on the left axis. Right axis: DVOL converted to the expected daily move (DVOL ÷ √365); DVOL 90 ≈ 4.7% a day.
Every figure names its source. BMM node figures are BMM's own data.
